Blurb:Innocence wasn’t a personality flaw.

Nicolas “Pure” Warner lived with the curse of a cute face and a terminal blush. He was waiting for his happily ever after. Yet he’d given up on finding his one. His partner and spotter wasn’t the type to settle down but he’d always been drawn to the other man. Pure decided he could live with that, but when powers outside their control took Raul away, Pure would stop at nothing to get Raul back even if that meant leaving the Trenton Security team behind.

Touching the sun only left you burned.

Raul Martinez was a brutal fighter. He’d worked freelance for several years at Trenton Security. There was one dark spot to the perfect job: Pure. The man was sweet and looking for forever. How did the damaged and unworthy ever hope to touch the sun without getting burned? And touching Pure would be a dream come true. When Pure endangers his freedom to save him, how could Raul convince his boy that letting him go was the only option?

My Review:  Pure and Raul are the only unattached men of  the Trenton crew. The sexual chemistry between the two is incendiary, it is so obvious to everyone around them. There is just one problem,it is clear that Pure has experienced some form of trauma in his past. This keeps him running away from the feelings that Raul ignites in him. Raul tries to resist the temptation of the big sexy man named Pure. He just knows that he could never be good enough for this sweet gentle giant. He is a ‘daddy dom’ who would love to make Pure his ‘boy’. Raul gets a glimpse into Pure’s life when he takes care of him after a concussion. It is Pure’s turn to babysit the Crew’s rugrats. This is a sight to behold, watching Pure with all the kids causes a soul deep yearning in Raul.

From the very beginning, chaos ensues when Raul is set up on a murder wrap. Pure goes rogue in order to help the man who he now acknowledges as his one and only. For once, Pure feels he cannot trust the Trenton Crew to help with the problem. He feels betrayed that the team has so easily disregarded Raul’s arrest. To Pure everything seems so insignificant when he realizes he might lose his one true love to false accusations. He knows that he is the only one that can protect and save his man. Pure takes matters into his own hands, he breaks Raul out and takes him to a safe house.

They are on their own in this trying time and they definitely have to count on each other, which is nothing new for them. What is new is the intimate setting and the open mindset that Pure is now willing to embrace. Gage, one of his teammates who is a daddy dom explained the importance of being open and honest about his limits in a daddy/ boy dynamic. Pure takes a leap of faith, trusting that Raul would never hurt him. He reveals the secret of his tainted past. Raul is enraged when he hears how his sweet baby boy was raped on his first date in high school. He understands so much more about his ‘boy’ Pure and he knows now that he needs to handle him gently.

Its an awakening for both Pure and Raul. Raul has to re-imagine the dynamic of being a daddy dom for Pure. He gives over all the power to Pure allowing him to experience the fearless joy of ‘topping his Dom, while still maintaining the control. For the first time, Pure feels something other than shame and fear when it comes to sex. He feels treasured and revels in the sturdy arms of his sexy Dom. It doesn’t take Pure long to completely trust his Daddy. Their short time together is blissful and they come close to forgetting the outside world.

They decide to keep moving and go off the grid to see their crazy friends Horace and Freddie. It’s not long before all hell break lose. Assassins find them before they can formulate a plan. Pure, being the better sniper decides to draw their fire and is hurt in the process. Raul is devastated and decides to just give himself up and go back to prison. One thing is certain, Raul will always put Pure first. He knows that he would rather be locked up or die in prison, than to see his boy hurt.

As soon as Pure is able he makes plans to clear his Daddy’s name. He does all this without the help of the Crew and with the help of his sweet mother. Right now, he doesn’t trust the Crew. He doesn’t believe that they fought as hard as they should have for Raul. Pure puts his faith in a few criminals that would be considered the underbelly of society. In the meantime, Raul is being protected in prison as best as he can by a few men who owes Peaches favours. After doing some digging, they find out that Raul has been setup for a job he did 10 years prior. The step daughter of the crime boss that went to prison is out for blood. Raul pleads with Gage to keep his boy safe. Eventually the Trenton Crew jumps in to help Pure. They realize they definitely dropped the ball in helping one of their own, they left Raul hanging. They make amends by dealing with the problem and proving why the Trenton Crew is feared by many. Pure hasn’t totally forgive them, but he appreciates the help. Anything to get his ‘daddy’ back.

It takes 4 mths for Raul to finish out his sentence, but finally the stress of it all is over. Pure is ready for his Daddy to be home and show him to whom he belongs. Pure gives himself over to full submission. Raul doesn’t mind Pure topping him, but there is nothing greater than being inside Pure. For him, being together is heavenly and all his dreams are coming through. Another self fulfilling prophecy that comes to pass is seeing Pure with their triplets. Their life is complete with their tiny grumpy boy, and their two terrifying little princesses. It is amazing seeing these two strong men with their well deserved beautiful family. I give this my ratings of 3- it was ok, give it a try. In my honest opinion I was a little bit disappointed, because I found it lacking. I waited so long for Pure’s story and I think it fell flat. I felt a disconnect between the characters and as a part of the series. It didn’t seem cohesive. I still love JM and look forward to any new material.
